Geoffrey Castro


Prior to joining CenterPoint Energy as a Program Manager in Corporate Community Relations, Geoffrey Castro spent nearly a decade working in leadership roles with a host of non-profit organizations. These roles included marketing, business development, strategic planning, media relations, program management and fundraising.

Most recently, Castro worked overseeing the marketing and growth of several national environmental education programs reaching several hundred thousand students each year through the Council for Environmental Education (CEE). Prior working at CEE, he also served as the Executive Director for an organization working on issues related to sustainability and conservation and was frequently quoted in the media.

Active in the community, Castro has served on advisory committees with the Endangered Species Media Project and the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies’ Education, Outreach and Diversity Committee. Castro holds bachelor’s degrees in Communications and Environmental Studies and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
